MIDTESOL members considering attending the TESOL 2020 Convention in Denver, Colorado, March 31-April 3, 2020, have an opportunity for funding through MIDTESOL. As one of your member benefits, MIDTESOL offers a Travel Award to help cover the cost of attending the TESOL 2020 Convention.
The recipient will be expected to:
- submit receipts for proof of expenses (the recipient will receive up to $500: $350 prior to the TESOL conference and the remaining $150 after the TESOL conference),
- write an article for MIDTESOL Matters,
- and volunteer one to two hours at the TESOL conference.
If you are interested in receiving a TESOL travel award of up to $500 from MIDTESOL, please submit the following information via e-mail:
- a short paragraph stating your name, employer, role in the ELL field (student/paraprofessional/professional, etc), and whether or not you will be receiving any funding
- a short paragraph stating whether or not you are a member of TESOL and how attending the TESOL conference will benefit you
Applications must be sent via e-mail to the MIDTESOL Awards Committee Chair at lindsey.e.simanowitz@gmail.com no later than January 14, 2020, at 5 pm. Submissions will be reviewed by the Awards Committee and recipients will be notified by January 28, 2020, at 5 pm.
