Job Description:
Full-time international faculty position for School Year 2024-2025 teaching Speaking and Listening at LNU-MSU College of International Business (CIB). Faculty are approved by Missouri State University and employed by Liaoning Normal University as consultant lecturers, who work in cooperation with MSU to successfully teach an MSU – West Plains Associate of Arts degree in General Studies. They are not employees of MSU and are expected to fulfill the obligations detailed in their contracts from LNU. Full-time faculty teach 15 lecture hours and hold 5 office hours per week. Faculty typically teach five sections of a single course. Interaction with students outside the classroom is encouraged.
Compensation:
- Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- 9,741 – 12,563 RMB per month (Plus 3,800 RMB per Month Housing Allowance)
- Contracts are 12 months, August through July, with 12 paid months.
- Regular retention bonuses
- One-year employment contracts are standard per the Chinese Government work visa policy. Candidates looking to teach multiple years are preferred.

LNU-MSU College of International Business (CIB) is located in the coastal city of Dalian in Liaoning Province of northeast China. It is an educational partnership between Missouri State University of the USA and Liaoning Normal University of China. The partnership between LNU and MSU was formed in June 2000. LNU-MSU offers a two-year AA degree in General Studies and a four-year BS degree in General Business. The program is available to Chinese and international students alike. LNU-MSU offers a unique learning environment for both Chinese and International students. One key to the success of the program is our management strategy. Like most other partnership programs, the Chinese side, LNU, is responsible for the provision and maintenance of facilities. What makes our program stand out is that MSU is solely responsible for establishing and maintaining academic standards similar to those students could expect if they were enrolled at MSU in the United States. Since we are offering a Western education in China with an intention of sending students abroad, all classes are taught in English and follow a regular university schedule similar to what you might find in the US.
The program in Dalian is formally approved by the governing bodies of both universities – the Ministry of Education in the People’s Republic of China and the MSU Board of Governors in the United States. The goal of this educational partnership is to increase cultural and educational exchange, and to promote friendship and understanding between the United States and China.

Job Description:
Adjunct faculty members serve the college and students by providing high-quality instruction and engaging in instruction-related activities. Adjunct faculty are expected to excel in classroom instruction and to fulfill various responsibilities related to their assigned teaching duties.
Adjunct faculty members excel as teachers by:
- Possessing sufficient professional expertise in their specific field/discipline.
- Maintaining faculty credentials as required by the college’s accrediting agencies.
- Selecting and developing instructional materials; planning and organizing instruction to enhance student learning; creating appropriate assignments to encourage student learning and foster higher-order thinking.
- Using a variety of proven methods of engagement and assessment to facilitate student mastery of learning outcomes.
- Providing students constructive, encouraging, and corrective feedback.
- Evaluating student learning and modifying instructional methods and strategies as appropriate to meet diverse student needs.
Adjunct faculty members are responsible for meeting certain expectations as responsible and professional representatives of MCC, including, but not limited to:
- Meeting classes as scheduled; notifying the appropriate division chair with as much advanced notice as possible if they are to be absent.
- Monitoring email and other electronic communication and responding to students in a timely manner.
- Preparing and distributing syllabi in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Following the published final exam schedule.
- Maintaining accurate records of students’ academic standing; promptly providing final grades, attendance, and other information as required by administration.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of student records as required by law and college policy.
- Fulfilling all requirements as stated in College policies and procedures, including mandatory training.
- Exercising stewardship in the use of College facilities and materials.
- Implementing course student learning outcome and institutional learning outcome assessment activities as required by the discipline/program and reporting assessment data in a timely manner.
Job Requirements:
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) / Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)
- Alternate: Master’s degree in any field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in a combination of the qualifying fields: TESOL/TESL, Applied Linguistics, Linguistics

The English Language Fellow Program sends experienced U.S. TESOL professionals on paid teaching assignments at universities and other academic institutions around the world.
As a U.S. Department of State public diplomacy initiative, Fellows are cultural ambassadors that promote English language learning and mutual understanding through cultural exchange. Fellow projects are 10-month, full-time positions for professionals with a graduate degree in English language teaching and TESOL teaching experience. In return, the program provides professionals with a platform to build skills that can greatly enhance their TESOL careers.
The English Language Fellow Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by Georgetown University.
