Webinar: Attaining Core Content for ELLs in Literature

Webinar: Attaining Core Content for ELLs in Literature

In a series of three one-hour webinars, the Center for English Language Learners at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) presents its system for supporting ELLs, Attaining Core Content for English Language Learners (ACCELL).

Each webinar focuses on a different scaffolding topic—background knowledge, vocabulary, and close reading—using English language arts as the target content area. The presentations include research-based pedagogical approaches and concrete ideas for teachers to successfully support ELLs in meeting college and career ready standards, with a focus on reading text.

Each webinar includes interactive examples of pedagogical practices and concludes with time for participants to ask questions and to engage in a discussion about implications and implementation.

Webinars are scheduled for February 4, February 18, and March 3.
