Report from TESOL 2008
Among those attending
the 2008 TESOL Convention in New York City in early April were Mary Barratt,
Jennifer Johnston and Jennifer Morrison (President, Vice-President and
Newsletter Editor, respectively, of MIDTESOL.
While they worked hard
at the Affiliate Sessions they attended, the women also had time to catch the
MIDTESOL-sponsored tour of the United Nations.
The MIDTESOL group was led through the UN by a wonderful guide – a
vivacious and intelligent young woman from Ghana. The tour was a great success, with nearly
everybody who had signed up in attendance.
New York was, of
course, an energy-filled conference site.
The Museum of Modern Art, just down the street from the conference
hotels, gave TESOL conference attendees free admission while the conference was
in session and many people took advantage of the opportunity to slip away and
enjoy the recently remodeled museum.
Any MIDTESOL member who
would like to describe his/her experiences at TESOL 2008 is invited to send
that information to the MIDTESOL webmaster.
